Leptotyphlops scutifrons conjunctus – Peters’ Thread Snake

Size:
Averaging 18cm and may reach 30cm.

Colour:
A uniform glossy black the scales are pale edged

Habitat:
Varied from grasslands to costal forests and arid savannah.

Field Notes:
An insignificant looking snake which is thin and wiry often confused with earth worms. Found sheltering beneath rocks, stones and rotting logs. Often preyed upon by small birds as well as snake Harlequin Snakes.
